At Maple Grove, we offer three distinct pathways: Eastgate, Northgate and Watergate. Each pathway has been carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of our learners. These pathways provide structured, individualised support and progression based on pupils’ developmental stages, learning profiles and communication needs, as guided by the SCERTS Model.
In addition to the core pathway curriculums, all three are underpinned by autism-specific curriculum based on the Autism Education Trust’s (AET) Pupil Progression Framework, ensuring a consistent and holistic approach across the school. This framework supports development across the following eight key areas:
- Communication and Interaction
- Social Understanding and Relationships
- Sensory Processing
- Interests, Routines, and Processing
- Emotional Understanding and Self-Awareness
- Learning and Engagement
- Healthy Living
- Independence and Community Participation
This layered approach allows us to provide a comprehensive, autism informed learning experience that nurtures academic achievement, emotional wellbeing, and life skills in equal measure.
